During her master’s degree, Liu Ying witnessed how excellent laboratory managers through meticulous work to make complex scientific research funds, equipment procurement, safety supervision and other matters orderly, so that teachers and students could devote themselves to scientific research without distraction. It was precisely this sense of recognition and fulfillment that led her to make a deliberate and earnest choice of this career path.

She fully understands that laboratory managers serve as a vital bridge between scientific innovation and logistical support, and the core is to achieve the unity of “management” and “service” The establishment of laboratory regulations requires collaborative exploration and continuous refinement by the team. Equally important is the effective implementation of these rules, which depends on collective oversight and cooperation. All management efforts must be centered around scientific research needs. Safety is paramount in laboratory operations, she maintains a strong sense of responsibility and risk awareness, rigorously upholds standards herself, and strives to work hand in hand with team members to complement each other. In addition, alleviating non-research-related concerns for faculty and students is another essential duty. By actively listening and communicating effectively—whether with principal investigator or students—she aims to deeply understand their genuine needs. Only by accurately identifying these needs can she provide targeted support, thereby creating a convenient, reliable, efficient, and comfortable working environment for all team members.

Driven by her admiration for university life and deep respect for outstanding individuals around her, she aspires to stand shoulder to shoulder with everyone else on this journey of shared growth. She willingly embraces the role of a “lubricant” and “catalyst” within the team—ensuring smooth information flow both inside and outside the lab—and contributing solidly to the flourishing development of scientific research.
