Yucheng Zhang
Ph.D. Student
B.S., Biotechnology, Tongji University, 2025
In 2021, Yucheng Zhang entered the College of Life Sciences at Tongji University. Driven by curiosity, he undertook rotations in laboratories across multiple research areas and ultimately joined Professor Shaorong Gao’s research group, where he worked under the guidance of doctoral senior students in Professor Yawei Gao’s laboratory to investigate the role of the RNA modification enzyme PUS7 in embryonic development.
As his understanding of RNA modifications deepened, he developed a strong interest in high-throughput RNA sequencing technologies. He hopes to master high-throughput omics methodologies to gain a broader perspective on gene expression and regulation in organisms. Fueled by a passion for exploration, he came to Peking University in 2025, aiming to broaden his academic horizons, learn cutting-edge technologies, and make breakthrough contributions in the field of high-throughput technology.
Professor Xuhang Li’s laboratory integrates experimental and computational approaches, incorporating emerging technologies such as single-cell sequencing and artificial intelligence to systematically explore metabolic issues. This research direction resonated strongly with Yucheng Zhang. He will join Professor Letian Tao’s laboratory and, under the joint supervision of Professor Xuhang Li, study systemic metabolic knowledge and research methods. By combining high-throughput technologies with systems biology, he aspires to contribute to the advancement of this field.
